The Paris-American Prize
*Submissions currently closed.
Every year, a winning poet will receive an award of $250, publication of original work in The Paris-American, and will be invited to read at Poets House alongside an established poet.
Established poets have included Mark Strand, Yusef Komunyakaa, Marie Howe, and Mark Doty.
We charge a fee of $12 for online submissions. This fee helps to support The Paris-American in its mission to bring emerging (even well-established) voices to a wider audience by placing them on literature's largest stage, New York City.
Please submit 3-5 poems, published or unpublished (include publication list for published poems) online, here. Remember, only unpublished poems, if accepted, will be published on the website. All submitted poems, finalists or not, will be considered for publication on the site.
Entries will be read and judged by The Paris-American's staff editors.
The only accepted document types are .pdf, .doc and .docx. We do not take translations at this time. When submitting your work, include a brief cover letter along with your name, address, and e-mail address on each page of the submission. Please see the Submittable link for more details on how to submit online. Upon acceptance, The Paris-American obtains first electronic rights.
